World Café on Forests for Fashion

Renewable and responsibly sourced wood fibers are part of the solution to transform fashion into a more sustainable industry. Sustainably managed forests are at the core of any discussions around forest products. Forests help mitigate climate change, maintain water quality and stabilize soil, provide food and income to millions of people and are home to an extraordinary amount of biodiversity. Through exhibitions, designer collaborations, a short video, and presentations at numerous events, the ‘Forests for Fashion’ initiative aims to raise awareness of sustainable forest value chains in the textile sector and their contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The World Café on Forests for Fashion will offer participants the chance to learn more about the different perspectives around wood-based textiles by engaging directly with various actors along the value chain.
